Acrobat Courses

PDF's have become a common part of most computers users lives. All too often they are seen as simply a small version of a file that can be emailed, but not changed. Unfortunately the Acrobat Reader is often mistaken considered as Acrobat, and the power of the real Acrobat goes unrecognised. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and the Acrobat reader is free!!

Acrobat Professional Acrobat allows automatic creation of PDF's from within many applications, imclusing Microsoft products, as well as from Internet Explorer.It also provides additional tools for graphics personnel, including separations preview, image retouching through Photoshop and Illustrator and preflighting.

A one day workshop that covers all the basics of creating and editing an Acrobat file. (Yes you really can change a PDF). It also covers using comments to mark up a PDF, creating indexes with Catalog, setting Distller job options and security settings.

Advanced Acrobat

This course shows how to fully control Acrobat security and Digital signatures, how to export text and images from a PDF. It also covers the underlying structure of the various types of PDF's, and using batch processing to perform tasks on multiple Acrobat documents automatically.

Acrobat Forms

This half day module is specifically devoted to creating, automating and deploying Acrobat forms

Multimedia Presentations with Acrobat

Acrobat is an ideal medium in which to create multimedia presentations. Documents open quickly, and the base document can be created in a wide range of applications. It is a simple matter to include movie and sound clips, and Acrobat supports strong interaction features through hyperlinks, field buttons and JavaScript. This half day module teaches you how to create a variety of presentations, including sales presentations, product catalogues and training procedures.

Acrobat JavaScript

Built into Acrobat is a JavaScript programming language. Using JavaScript you can create validation and calculation scripts for forms, create advanced interactions in PDF presentations and control the whole Acrobat environment.

Acrobat and Databases

Through the support of ADBC, Acrobat can act as a front end to any ODBC database. This half day workshop shows how SQL commands can be used to display data from a database in an Acrobat file, as well as how to update a database through form fields in a PDF.

Acrobat Capture

Acrobat Capture is a separate program that provides a powerful means of converting scanned paper documents into editable text PDF's.
